oneSafe Photos: Your ridiculously secure vault for iOS photos and video

For all of the wonderful features of iOS, one that frustrates some users is a lack of security when it comes being able to access photos and videos.

Even if you have a passcode on your phone, it’s still possible for someone to get into your device and access all of your important information in no time at all. That is, unless you are using Lunabee’s super secure app for protecting your precious photos and videos, oneSafe Photos.

Lunabee, the company behind an app we profiled in December, Instant Cover, offers several iOS apps for protecting your sensitive information, including oneSafe photos.

OneSafe Photos uses the same high-level encryption features found in Lunabee’s password management app, oneSafe, which ensures your photos and videos are impossible to access by anone except you.

As soon as you launch oneSafe Photos users can select from various password options to access their photos and videos: a 4-digit unlock code, an alphanumeric string, an Android-style unlock method and a combination lock (neat and secure, but not my favorite method due to the time it takes to master).

After you’ve selected your password – and set a decoy password if you wish – you’re ready to use this slick, secure, app.

Users can take photos from within the app, or load pictures from an existing library. You can also organize photos, and the app even contains a section – that requires another password – for your most cherished/sensitive photos or videos.

Some other notable features of oneSafe Photos include:

1. AES 256 bit encryption
2. Adding photos is simple and you can lock the vault with the touch of a button
3. Group your photos into custom folders, and search to find favorites easily
4. Autolock, self-destruction, a decoy safe, and break-in reports

That’s the good, but what does oneSafe photos lack?  Two of the glaring omissions from the app are photo editing tools and a slideshow feature.  While the app is fantastic at protecting important items, it’s not a full-featured photo app that many use and enjoy. OneSafe Photos is a utility, and a great one, but it’s not a one-stop shop for taking, editing, and showing off photos before storing them.

OneSafe Photos is a great app for what it does, and for the kind of protection it offers, the $1.99 price tag is extremly small. If you’re frustrated with iPhone security as it relates to your photos and video, this is one app you’ll definitely want to pick up.
